Chapter 78 - The Clash
Suddenly, the heavy iron gates of the garden maze were obliterated.
Alejandro’s armored SUV smashed through the towering hedges at sixty miles an hour, crushing the stone fountains and tearing up the earth. The massive vehicle fishtailed in the mud, slamming sideways into a stone wall just feet away from Daniel.
The driver's door flew open. Alejandro launched himself out of the vehicle before it even stopped moving.
He didn't draw a gun. He didn't say a word.
He sprinted across the mud and tackled Daniel with the sheer, unbridled force of a furious god. The impact sent both men crashing through a thick rose bush, tumbling onto the gravel pathway.
Daniel swung his rifle wildly, but Alejandro grabbed the barrel, twisting it out of his hands and hurling it into the darkness.

Daniel spat blood, laughing maniacally as he pulled a concealed hunting knife from his boot. He slashed blindly, slicing a deep gash across Alejandro’s forearm.
