Chapter 50 - The Decoy
Alejandro mobilized his private tactical team, heavily arming them for a raid on Pier 17. He knew Vargas's men would be heavily fortified, expecting a retaliation.
But as Alejandro reviewed the blueprints of the docks in his armored car, a sudden, chilling realization hit him. The information had been given up too easily. Marcus was a coward, yes, but Vargas was a mastermind.
"Stop the car," Alejandro ordered his driver.
"Sir?"
"Vargas knew I would find the leak," Alejandro said, his blood running cold. "He wanted me to raid Pier 17. He wanted my men and me out of the mountains."
Alejandro grabbed his satellite phone, frantically dialing the safe house. It rang over and over, but there was no answer. The line had been cut.
"Turn the car around! Now!"

The raid on the docks was a decoy. The real target was Elena and Mateo.
