Chapter 64 - The Hidden Cache

Daniel did not go to the estate immediately. He was psychotic, but he was not stupid. He knew Alejandro would surround the mansion with an army the moment the news broke.
Instead, the laundry truck dropped him off in a dark, abandoned industrial sector on the edge of the city. Daniel walked three blocks through the freezing rain until he reached a dilapidated self-storage facility.
He broke the lock on Unit 42 with a tire iron.
Inside the dusty, forgotten unit was a heavy steel trunk. Before his arrest, when the walls were closing in, Daniel had hidden an emergency cache that the federal authorities never found.

He opened the trunk. Inside lay a hundred thousand dollars in untraceable cash, forged passports, and a heavily modified, suppressed submachine gun with a dozen spare magazines.
He stripped off his gray prison uniform, changing into dark tactical clothing. As he loaded the magazines, his hands did not shake. He had nothing left to lose. He didn't want the company back. He didn't want his freedom. He only wanted to burn Alejandro’s world to ashes, starting with the child that had stolen his birthright.
