Chapter 61 - The Prison Transfer

For six years, Daniel Valdés had rotted in a maximum-security cell. The opulent lifestyle he once enjoyed had been replaced by concrete walls, tasteless food, and the brutal hierarchy of the prison yard. But while other inmates broke under the isolation, Daniel survived on a singular, toxic fuel: pure, unadulterated hatred for Alejandro and Elena.
He had lost his inheritance, his freedom, and his pride. He spent every waking hour memorizing the layout of the prison, watching the guards, and waiting for the perfect moment.
That moment arrived during a massive, orchestrated riot in Cell Block C.

While the guards were distracted by the violent clash, Daniel slipped into the chaotic laundry facility. He had spent the last two years bribing a corrupt transport driver using the last hidden remnants of a secret offshore account he had never disclosed to the authorities.
Daniel climbed into the back of a commercial laundry cart, burying himself beneath layers of soiled uniforms. He held his breath as the heavy cart was wheeled into the back of a delivery truck. When the engine roared to life and the truck passed through the heavy steel gates, Daniel allowed himself a grim, terrifying smile in the dark. The ghost was free.
