Preparing for Trial
The months leading up to the trial were a whirlwind of legal strategies and media frenzies. The high society of the city was scandalized by the fall of Beatriz and Daniel.
In the sunlit library of the mansion, Alejandro and his team of elite lawyers went over the testimony.
"They are going to plead temporary insanity," the lead defense attorney warned. "Daniel’s lawyers will argue that the stress of the impending birth caused a psychotic break, and Beatriz was merely trying to help him."
Elena scoffed, placing her tea cup down on the saucer.
"There was nothing temporary about it. They meticulously planned to cut the rope and make it look like a tragic suicide."
"We have the audio recordings from the neighbor's balcony security camera," Alejandro stated coldly. "We have Rosa's testimony, Maria's blackmail documents, and the medical records from the European clinic proving the illegal insemination. They have no defense."
