The Reunion
Later that afternoon, Alejandro pushed a wheelchair into Elena's room. Sitting in it was Rosa, looking frail but beaming with an inner light that completely transformed her aged face.
Behind her stood a young woman in her early thirties, holding the handles of the wheelchair. She had Rosa's gentle eyes.
"Elena," Rosa said, her voice shaking with joy. "This is my Maria."
Elena carefully got out of bed, ignoring the dull ache in her shoulder, and walked over to hug the young woman.
"Your mother is the bravest woman I have ever known," Elena told Maria, crying softly. "She threw herself off a building to save my baby."
Maria wiped her own tears, squeezing Elena's hands.
"Alejandro told me everything. You are family now. All of you."
Rosa looked up at Alejandro, who was watching the scene with a quiet, protective smile.

"We are going home, aren't we, Young Master?" Rosa asked.
"Yes, Rosa," Alejandro replied. "But this time, there will be no secrets, no beatings, and no fear. We are taking the mansion back."
