Daniel stood outside the panic room, emptying a magazine into the electronic keypad. The screen shattered, but the heavy deadbolts remained firmly locked in place. The door was rated to withstand a rocket-propelled grenade. He couldn't blast his way in.
He could hear the exterior guards shouting as they breached the front doors downstairs. He had only minutes before they swarmed the upper levels.
Daniel smiled. If he couldn't get in, he would make them come out.
He ran to the nearby utility closet and dragged out several heavy cans of chemical cleaning solvents and paint thinner. He poured the highly flammable liquids across the carpet directly beneath the panic room's intake ventilation vents.
He pulled a flare from his tactical vest, struck it, and tossed it onto the soaked carpet.
