The True Story
Alejandro looked at the floor, his jaw tightening as he recounted the dark history of the Valdés family.
"Thirty-five years ago, Beatriz gave birth to a stillborn child. Knowing my grandfather would cut her husband out of the massive family trust if they didn't produce an heir, she bribed the hospital staff."
"She swapped you," Elena whispered, remembering Rosa's panicked confession.
"Yes. My real mother was a poor maid working in the hospital. She gave birth to me on the same night. Beatriz paid the doctors to switch the records. She took me, the healthy boy, and presented me as a Valdés."
Elena frowned, confused.
"But if she took you, why did Daniel grow up as the heir?"
"Because three years later, Beatriz miraculously got pregnant again," Alejandro explained bitterly. "She finally had her own biological son, Daniel. Suddenly, the fake heir she bought wasn't needed anymore. In fact, I was a threat. If my grandfather ever found out I wasn't her blood, she would be ruined."

"So, she arranged an 'accident'. She paid a smuggler to take me away and abandon me in a slum in Mexico, telling the family I was kidnapped and killed. But I survived, Elena. I grew up on the streets, built my own wealth, and spent the last ten years hunting down the truth of my origins."
