Chapter 74

Return to the Coast

When we returned to the coastal wooden house, the sky was crystal clear without a single cloud. This time, there was no anxiety, no lurking shadows, and certainly no black box waiting on our doorstep.

The scent of the ocean welcomed us like an old friend. We threw open all the windows, letting the breeze sweep through every corner of the house.

"You know, I really missed this place," I said, dropping my suitcase heavily onto the living room floor.

Daniel walked over and scooped me up in his arms. My laughter echoed throughout the house.

May you like

"Me too," he replied, looking deeply into my eyes. "We don't need to change our names or run anymore. Starting today, it's just Daniel and you."

That evening, we sat on the balcony, drinking red wine and listening to the crashing waves. We talked about the future, about the simplest things—like learning how to bake, planting a small garden, and figuring out how to be normal people. Peace was no longer a mirage; it was a sustainable reality.
