Chapter 61 - The Final Blow

Daniel lunged forward with inhuman speed, not to attack Kael, but to shield me. Simultaneously, I threw my weight backward, kicking hard into Kael’s knee.
Bang!
Kael stumbled from my kick, and his shot went wide. But it wasn't a total miss. The bullet tore through Daniel’s shoulder. He let out a low grunt but didn't stop.
Using the momentum, Daniel slammed his shoulder into Kael’s chest, pushing them both onto the cold metal roof. Kael dropped his silver gun. Two master assassins engaged in a bloody, hand-to-hand struggle.
Fists flew with lethal force. Kael was seasoned and ruthless, but Daniel was younger, faster, and driven by the desperation of a man protecting his family.
I struggled to get up, the pain in my chest sharp. I drew my handgun, trying to aim. But they moved too fast, grappling closely, making it impossible for me to shoot without hitting Daniel.

"Get out of the way, Daniel!" I shouted.
But Kael had pulled a hidden dagger from his sleeve, thrusting it toward Daniel’s chest.
