Chapter 70

The Swiss Vault

The elevator took us thirty meters underground. The massive steel doors of the vault area opened via a retinal scan and a multi-tier passcode system. The manager stopped in front of safe number 404, inserted his master key first, and then stepped back for Daniel to use the titanium key.

"We will leave you two to your privacy," the manager said before departing.

Daniel turned the key. A heavy clack echoed, and the thick vault door swung open. Inside, there were no gold bars or diamonds. Instead, there was a military-grade encrypted hard drive and a small black notebook.

"Kael's black book," Daniel muttered, flipping through the pages. "All the money-laundering accounts, the bought-off politicians, and the codenames of every assassin across the globe."

I connected the hard drive to my laptop. The screen displayed a staggering account balance: over four billion dollars in blood money.

"We found the right place," I whispered. "It's time to bring this empire down."
