The Final Decision
We sat in the living room, the cold titanium key resting on the glass table. The rain pattered against the roof, a reminder of a storm that hadn't truly passed.
"We could throw it into the ocean," I suggested. "Let the sea swallow all their secrets."
Daniel clasped his hands together, his eyes deep in thought.
"If that safe contains a list of surviving sleeper agents, or the Organization's multi-billion-dollar accounts, sooner or later someone else will find a way to open it. That network could be resurrected to hunt us down."
"Are you saying we have to go to Zurich?" I asked, feeling a wave of exhaustion.
"One last time," Daniel affirmed, taking my hand. "We will burn their roots to the ground ourselves. I don't want us living our whole lives in fear that one day, another ghost will knock on our door."
