Chapter 37 - The Ghost Erased

With the stroke of a pen, the Santillán empire ceased to exist.

Camila stood up from the mahogany table. She shook the hands of the auditors and the judges, her micro-expressions projecting nothing but graceful, composed authority. Lupita walked beside her as they exited the high-rise building.

"So," Lupita said quietly as they stepped into the private elevator. "What are you going to do with it all? The properties, the money..."

Camila watched the floor numbers tick down on the digital display.

"The commercial properties will be sold," Camila answered, her voice calm and absolute. "The proceeds will be injected into Casa Rivas and used to establish a nationwide legal defense fund for domestic workers and abused employees. No one will ever be trapped in a mansion without a voice again."

Lupita looked at her friend, a profound sense of awe washing over her. "And the Santillán main estate? The land where the house used to be?"

"I am having it paved over," Camila said, her jaw clenching slightly. "I am donating the land to the city to build a public park. I want the ground where they tortured us to be trampled on by thousands of ordinary people every single day."
