Chapter 14 - The Police Knock

At that exact moment, the deafening wail of sirens shattered the quiet peace of the Valle de Bravo estate.

As the massive wrought-iron electronic gates swung open, two armored, matte-black SUVs and a local police patrol car drove in, parking aggressively in the sprawling gravel driveway.

Patricia Ocampo, the razor-sharp lawyer dressed in a flawless black suit, stepped out of the lead vehicle first. She was followed closely by a state notary, four massive private security contractors, and two heavily armed police officers.

They marched directly through the front doors of the main house, entirely shocking the panicked Santillán family.

"Who the hell are you?"

Rodrigo shouted aggressively.

"Who gave you permission to illegally trespass on my property?"

The police officers did not answer. They marched straight past Don Arturo, grabbed Rodrigo by the arms, and violently twisted them behind his back. The cold, metallic click of steel handcuffs echoed loudly right in front of the fresh, crystal wedding centerpieces.

"Release my son!"

Doña Elvira screamed hysterically, rushing forward with her claws out.

"No one touches a Santillán!"
