Chapter 33 - The Ledger of Blood

Rodrigo leaned closer to the glass, his jaw clenching. "You've already taken everything. I'm serving twenty years. My father is dying in the medical ward. What more could you possibly want to say to me?"
Camila slowly unbuttoned her blazer. She reached into the inner pocket and pulled out the faded photograph of her parents, pressing the image flat against the bulletproof glass.
Rodrigo’s eyes flicked down to the picture. His brow furrowed in confusion for a microscopic second, but then, a flicker of terrifying recognition crossed his features.
"My parents," Camila spoke, her voice a low, terrifying whisper that echoed through the metal grate. "The true owners of the Santillán empire. Your father didn't just steal from the federal government, Rodrigo. He murdered my family to build his foundation."

Rodrigo stared at the photograph, the color slowly draining from his face. "That's impossible. You were just a stray."
"I was the heir," Camila corrected, her gaze never wavering. "And now, the federal prosecutors have the original deeds."
