Chapter 25 - The Call to the City

The silence in the coastal house was no longer peaceful. It was heavy, loaded with a terrifying, silent fury. Camila did not cry. The tears she had shed for the Santillán family had dried up long ago.
She reached for her phone and dialed a number she hadn't called in weeks. It rang twice before a familiar, warm voice answered.
"Director of Employee Welfare, Lupita speaking."
"Lupita. It’s me."
There was a short pause on the line. Lupita instantly recognized the subtle, icy tension in Camila’s low voice.
"Camila? What’s wrong? Are you okay?"
"I need you to take a leave of absence from Casa Rivas," Camila stated, her tone flat and devoid of panic, radiating absolute cinematic realism. "I am coming back to the city tonight. And I need a lawyer who specializes in historical real estate fraud."

"They are in prison," Camila whispered, staring at the forged signatures. "But they are still living on my land. I am coming to take it all back."
