Chapter 32 - The Monster in Chains

Rodrigo Santillán was escorted into the room by two heavily armed guards. He wore a bright orange jumpsuit that swallowed his previously immaculate, tailored physique. His slicked-back hair was gone, shaved close to his scalp. The arrogant, violent charm that had defined him was entirely erased, replaced by the hollow, haunted look of a man who realized he was no longer the apex predator.

He sat down heavily in the chair opposite the glass. He looked up. When his eyes locked onto Camila, a visceral reaction rippled through his body. His hands, shackled to a chain around his waist, twitched violently.

"Camila."

His voice came through the metal grate, raspy and dry. He tried to force a confident smirk, but the micro-expressions of exhaustion and defeat made it look like a grimace.

"You came to see me."

Camila did not flinch. She did not lean away from the glass. She looked directly into his eyes with a cold, piercing glare.

"I came to deliver a message, Rodrigo."
