Chapter 19 - The Kneeling Legs
Camila finally spoke, extinguishing the last remaining spark of hope for the Santillán family.
"My final act as your 'wife',"
Camila said, looking directly into Rodrigo’s panicked eyes.
"Will be to ensure that you and your family never have the opportunity to use a company, an employee, or a woman as your personal plaything ever again."
Patricia read the final verdict: immediate termination for severe misconduct, eviction from all properties within 72 hours, asset seizure, and all evidence of fraud forwarded to the Federal Prosecutor’s Office.
The untouchable pride of the Santillán dynasty completely collapsed.
Doña Elvira, the arrogant matriarch, stumbled around the heavy table. In front of the entire stunned boardroom, she fell to her knees on the carpet, reaching out to desperately grasp Camila’s leg.
"Camila, please... do not throw us out into the street!"
Doña Elvira sobbed, her expensive mascara running down her cheeks.
Don Arturo collapsed to his knees right beside his wife, begging for mercy. Valeria wept in the corner, utterly humiliated.
Rodrigo was the last to kneel. He did not kneel out of remorse for the slap; he kneeled because he finally understood that without money, he was going to prison.
