Chapter 50 - The Phantom Ledger

Executing the reverse-hack on Ouroboros Pharmaceuticals required absolute precision and a terrifying level of digital architecture. For the next eighteen hours, the safehouse was transformed into a high-tech war room. Aris sat at the primary terminal, her fingers flying across the keyboard with the frantic, brilliant speed of a prodigy fighting for her own life. Arthur monitored the external perimeter, cycling through the compromised city surveillance cameras to ensure Blackwood’s hit squads hadn't locked onto their location.

"The payload is constructed," Aris announced, her voice hoarse from exhaustion, rubbing her bloodshot eyes. "I’ve attached the entire historical ledger of their suppressed cures, the proof of the malware injection, and the offshore bribery routing numbers. But we have a massive logistical problem, Olivia."

Olivia walked over, placing a comforting hand on the developer’s shoulder. "Explain it to me."

"Ouroboros operates on a completely closed-loop internal intranet," Aris pointed to a complex diagram on the screen. "I can’t just launch the payload from this safehouse over a standard Wi-Fi connection. Their external firewalls will vaporize the code before it even reaches the lobby servers. The only way to bypass the encryption and force the broadcast to go live globally is to physically plug the payload drive into the primary master server."

Arthur turned away from the window, his expression grim. "And where exactly is the primary master server located?"

"It’s not in their corporate headquarters," Aris replied, pulling up a highly classified architectural blueprint. "It’s located directly beneath the Zurich Convention Center. It’s the exact facility where Elias Blackwood is hosting the World Health Summit tomorrow. The servers are housed in a subterranean, biometric-locked vault to ensure their presentations are completely insulated from external hacking."

Olivia stared at the blueprints. The realization was heavy and incredibly dangerous. "We can't just broadcast the truth from the shadows. We have to walk directly into the lion's den."

"It’s a suicide mission, Olivia," Arthur warned, stepping closer. "The convention center will be locked down by global security forces, Interpol, and Blackwood’s private mercenaries. If they catch us in the subterranean levels, they won't arrest us. They will execute us and claim we were corporate terrorists trying to bomb the summit."

"If we do nothing, David’s legacy dies, and millions of people continue to suffer for Blackwood’s profit," Olivia countered, her voice completely devoid of hesitation. She looked at Arthur, the deep, unspoken love between them serving as an unbreakable anchor. "We have faced monsters before, Arthur. We broke Victoria Harrington’s empire. We will break this one too."

Arthur sighed, a fierce, determined smile touching his lips. He loaded a fresh magazine into his sidearm. "Then we better pack a suit. We have a summit to attend."
