Eleanor watched from the patio, holding a glass of iced tea.
The fierce, terrifying billionaire who had burned down a hotel lobby to save her daughter was now completely at peace. The heavy burden of her thirty-year search had been entirely lifted.
She watched Evangeline laughing with Leo, and she knew, with absolute certainty, that her legacy was perfectly safe.
Evangeline walked over, setting Leo down to run back to his friends.
"You look happy, Mom,"
Evangeline smiled, sitting next to her mother.
"I am completely fulfilled, Evie,"
