Chapter 45 - The Lion's Den
The Sterling estate was a monument to arrogant, ancient wealth.
Evangeline stepped out of her sleek black vehicle, wearing a flawless, tailored slate-gray suit. The heavy silver bracelet on her wrist gleamed in the overcast light.
She walked past the armed guards without flinching, stepping into the grand, oppressive foyer of the mansion.
Arthur Sterling was sitting at the head of a massive, dark dining table. He was an older, terrifyingly sharp man, holding a crystal glass of expensive bourbon.
"Evangeline,"
Arthur sneered, his voice dripping with venom.
"Or should I call you Claire?"
"Claire is dead,"

Evangeline replied, her voice a cold, quiet blade of absolute authority.
"I am the CEO of Crawford Global. You requested a meeting, Arthur. Make it quick. My time is incredibly expensive."
