That evening, Evangeline stood on the massive, sweeping balcony of the luxury penthouse.

The sun was slowly setting over Lake Michigan, painting the sky in brilliant, explosive shades of gold, crimson, and deep purple.

Eleanor walked out onto the balcony, holding Leo’s tiny hand as the toddler waddled happily toward his mother.

Evangeline knelt down, pulling her son tightly against her chest, burying her face in his soft, dark hair.

"It's beautiful out here,"

Eleanor smiled, resting her hand gently on Evangeline’s shoulder.
