Chapter 57 - Leo's Fifth Birthday

Time moved beautifully and flawlessly.
Leo’s fifth birthday was celebrated not with an extravagant, arrogant gala, but with a warm, intimate party in the massive, sunlit gardens of the Crawford estate.
Children from the foundation ran freely across the manicured lawns, laughing and playing.
Leo, a bright, fiercely intelligent boy with his mother's resilient spirit, ran up to Evangeline, his face covered in chocolate cake.
"Mommy! Watch me!"
Leo giggled, proudly showing her a drawing he had made.

Evangeline laughed warmly, scooping him up into her arms and spinning him around the garden.
