The blue light of the Geneva Core reflected off baby Hope’s face as Sarah placed her tiny foot onto the central glass cradle.

On the massive monitors overhead, thousands of offshore bank accounts across London, Zurich, and New York began to turn red. Billions of dollars were vanishing into digital dust every second.
"Sarah! Stop!" Leo’s voice screamed from the doorway.
He had bypassed Arthur. He walked into the vault, his face twisted with a mad, desperate fury. In his hand, he held a black tactical detonator. Behind him, Arthur lay on the concrete floor outside, bleeding from a deep knife wound in his side. Leo had cut his own mentor down.
"You're destroying the world's logistics chain, you stupid girl!" Leo roared, his hand shaking over the detonator button. "If you delete that directory, forty percent of the shipping vessels on the Atlantic will lose their navigation arrays! The ports will lock! The global economy will collapse by sunrise!"
"Then let it collapse," Sarah said, her voice steady as she lifted Hope back into her arms. "Let it all burn down to the ground. We are done being your currency, Leo."
