Chapter 46: The London Hub

Sarah stood before the empty incubator, her mind going dangerously blank. The world around her seemed to fade into a dull, white noise.

Arthur stumbled into the room, his shotgun lowered, his breath ragged as he leaned against the doorframe. "Sarah... we have to go. The British authorities are locking down the river block."

Sarah turned to Julian. She didn't look angry anymore; she looked dead.

"Where is she, Julian?" she asked softly.

Julian looked down at his terminal. "They’re moving her to a private yacht docked at the Greenwich pier. The boat leaves for international waters in fifteen minutes. Once she's past the twelve-mile limit, she disappears into their private network forever."

Sarah walked past Arthur without saying a word. She snatched the shotgun from his hands.

"Sarah, you can't fight an international syndicate by yourself," Arthur groaned, reaching for her arm.

She pulled away, her eyes burning with a primal, terrifying light. "I am not by myself, Colonel. I have the one thing The Consortium didn't account for."

She pulled her father's encrypted shortwave radio from her pocket.

"Thomas," Sarah said into the receiver. "They have Hope at the Greenwich pier. They’re moving her to a yacht. Tell your Aegis men to stop defending your money. Tell them to clear the river."

On the other end, twenty miles away, Thomas Sterling stood in his Mayfair safehouse. He looked at the monitors showing his offshore accounts vanishing into the Zurich mainframe. He had lost his empire. But looking at the photo of his wife on his desk, his jaw tightened.

"All units," Sterling said into his global network. "Greenwich pier. Maximum force. Erase everything in gray."
