Chapter 24 - The Exile

Eleanor looked up at her son, and for the first time in her life, she saw absolutely no trace of the boy she had raised. She saw only a ruthless, impenetrable wall of ice.
"You have exactly fifteen minutes to pack whatever fits into a single suitcase,"
William ordered.
"You cannot do this to me! I am your mother!"
Eleanor screamed, genuine panic finally breaking through her rage.
"I froze your accounts an hour ago. Your black cards are deactivated. Your signatory rights to the trust are entirely revoked,"
William listed his actions with terrifying, machine-like precision.
"You have no money. You have no power. You have no name."
"William, please,"
Eleanor begged, suddenly changing her tactic, her eyes filling with desperate tears.
"I made a mistake. I was stressed. Please, do not throw me out into the street like a dog."
William did not blink.
"If you are not out of this house in fifteen minutes, I will hand that video directly to the District Attorney, and you will spend the next ten years in a federal penitentiary for attempted manslaughter."
William turned his back on her, facing the security team standing by the heavy mahogany doors.
"Escort her to her room. One suitcase. No jewelry, no art. And then escort her off the property,"
William commanded.

Two massive guards moved forward immediately, grabbing Eleanor by the arms. She shrieked, kicking and thrashing, screaming curses at William, at Chloe, and at the terrified family members who simply watched her downfall in absolute silence.
The heavy doors closed behind her, cutting off her hysterical screaming.
