She was seven months pregnant, her body heavy and aching, carrying the future heir to a billion-dollar empire.
Yet, in the grand, echoing hallways of the mansion, she had never felt more isolated. Her husband, William, was a fiercely protective man, but his corporate responsibilities required frequent travel.
Whenever his black luxury sedan disappeared down the mile-long driveway, the temperature in the house seemed to plummet. That was when Eleanor truly took control.
