Chapter 33 - The Video Evidence

The defense attorney immediately jumped to his feet.

"Objection! The witness is speculating about the vehicle's acceleration! It was a severe storm; visibility was zero!"

"Overruled,"

The judge barked instantly.

"Your Honor,"

The prosecutor smiled, turning toward the jury box.

"The prosecution would like to submit Exhibit A into evidence. It is the synchronized dashcam and telemetry data recovered from the black box of Mr. Sterling's SUV."

Teresa’s face drained of all color, turning a sickly, ashen gray.

The lights in the courtroom dimmed, and a massive projector screen lowered from the ceiling. The footage began to play.

It was utterly terrifying. In pristine, high-definition night-vision, the courtroom watched as Daniel’s SUV roared out of the tree line.

They saw Valeria lying helplessly in the mud.

And they saw the brake lights of Teresa’s sedan completely dark as the car actively accelerated, aiming perfectly for the pregnant woman on the ground, until Daniel’s SUV violently T-boned it off the screen.

A collective gasp of absolute horror erupted from the jury. Several members covered their mouths in shock.

The telemetry data on the screen proved beyond any doubt that Teresa had the accelerator pressed completely to the floor. It was not a skid. It was a targeted, lethal missile.
