Chapter 17 - The Cold Confession

Teresa walked slowly toward them.
She looked down at the mud-covered, traumatized woman she had just attempted to murder, and her face displayed absolutely no remorse. There was no shock, no maternal concern for her bleeding son.
She looked at Daniel, her eyes completely devoid of human warmth, and uttered a phrase that froze the blood in Daniel’s veins.
"You should have let her disappear,"
Teresa said coldly.
The silence that followed was absolute. The rain seemed to stop making a sound.
Daniel felt his heart completely stop in his chest. He stared at the woman who had given birth to him, utterly unable to comprehend the sheer, sociopathic evil standing in front of him.
"What did you just say?"
Daniel whispered, his voice trembling with horror.
Teresa took one step closer, looking down at Valeria’s stomach with pure disgust.
"She never should have been a part of this family,"
May you like
Teresa stated flatly.
"Neither should that child."
