Chapter 23 - The Boardroom Panic

Two days later, Valeria was officially discharged from the hospital, placed under strict bed rest at a luxury penthouse Daniel had rented in the city center. He refused to take her back to the sprawling Sterling estate.
With Valeria surrounded by private security and a private nurse, Daniel walked into the headquarters of Sterling Holdings.
The executive boardroom was in absolute chaos. Fourteen senior board members were shouting over each other, panicked by the plummeting market shares.
When Daniel pushed open the heavy glass doors, the room fell into a terrified, breathless silence.
"Daniel,"
The Vice Chairman said, adjusting his tie nervously.
"We need to implement damage control immediately. We have a legal team ready to post your mother's bail—"
"If any man in this room authorizes a single cent of corporate funds for Teresa's bail,"
Daniel interrupted, his voice echoing with terrifying, absolute authority,
"I will personally destroy your career, seize your shares, and hand you over to the federal authorities as an accomplice to attempted murder."
The Vice Chairman turned completely pale, sinking slowly back into his leather chair.
"She tried to murder my wife and my unborn child,"

Daniel announced, pacing the length of the massive mahogany table.
"Effective immediately, Teresa Sterling is entirely stripped of her executive voting rights. Her assets are frozen. If the board does not unanimously approve this resolution right now, I will liquidate my controlling shares and bankrupt this entire firm by Friday."
