Chapter 27 - A New Home

The villa in Coyoacán had been renovated, making it more beautiful and secure than ever. Spring brought purple Jacaranda petals, scattering them across the courtyard.
Emily, Sarah, and Arthur sat around the wooden table beneath the shade of the trees, enjoying cups of warm tea. There were no loud toasts, only absolute peace.

Emily looked up at the clear, cloudless Mexican sky. The nightmares of darkness, violence, and deceit had completely receded into the past. Her heart was calm, her mind sharp. She had learned how to fly from her deepest wounds, and this sky of freedom belonged to her, forever.
