Emily looked at Sarah. They couldn't abandon Mateo, but leaving the safe house now was incredibly risky.
"That ledger is the final puzzle piece," Emily said firmly. "If we only have electronic data, Thorne's lawyers can argue the system was hacked. But a handwritten ledger with original bribery signatures? He won't be able to deny it."
Sarah nodded, beginning to check her weapons.

"I'll go meet him. You stay here and maintain the servers."
"No," Emily stood up. "Mateo is an accountant. He's panicking. If the person meeting him is a former operative armed to the teeth, he might run. I'm going with you. We'll meet him in the most crowded place in Mexico City: The Zócalo."
