Chapter 15 - The Night Break-In
At two in the morning, the perimeter alarms Sarah had installed around the villa flashed red on Emily’s phone. Someone was breaking in.
Emily didn't panic. She quietly slipped out of bed, put on dark clothes, and grabbed the laptop containing the encrypted data. Instead of fleeing immediately, she activated the villa's "Lockdown Mode." Hidden metal shutters instantly dropped over the window frames, securely locking the three armed intruders outside in the living room area.
Gunshots rang out sharply as they tried to break the windows. Through the security cameras, Emily recognized the insignia of a notorious mercenary group. She calmly sent her coordinates to Sarah and stepped down into the secret passageway beneath the wine cellar.
