Instead of planting forests, they were illegally mining rare earth minerals using toxic chemicals, destroying the entire ecosystem. The profits from the minerals were then laundered through the Blackwood network to fund targeted riots, keeping mineral prices artificially high.
Emily clenched her fists. Indigenous people were losing their homes and their lives, while Thorne sat in his ivory tower counting money. She would not let this continue.
