Chapter 9 - The Ultimate Revelation

Chloe took a step closer to her father, her eyes shining with unshed tears, but her posture remained incredibly strong.
"And because I needed to know exactly who I truly was," Chloe finished.
Arthur could barely breathe. The air in the foyer felt thick and devoid of oxygen.
"What were the results?" Arthur managed to ask, his voice cracking.
No one answered immediately.
And that agonizing, heavy silence was infinitely worse than any spoken word could ever be. It confirmed every dark fear rising in Arthur's heart.
Finally, Daniel opened his eyes and looked directly at Arthur.
"She is my daughter," Daniel stated quietly.

Evelyn let out a muffled, agonizing wail and buried her face in her knees.
