Chapter 35 - The Goodbye
They walked down to the campus courtyard together.
Arthur looked at his daughter, standing in front of the massive oak doors of her new life. She looked so grown, so capable, and entirely unbreakable.
"Call me if you need anything,"
Arthur said, his voice thickening with emotion.
"Even if it is three in the morning and you just want to complain about a roommate."
"I will, Dad,"
Chloe whispered, tears springing instantly to her eyes.
She threw her arms around his neck, hugging him with a fierce, desperate strength.
"I love you so much, Dad. Thank you for everything,"
Chloe sobbed softly into his shoulder.
"I love you too, sweetheart. Go show them what you can do,"

He watched her walk away, turning around to wave one last time before she disappeared into the dormitory.
