Chapter 30 - The Unbreakable Horizon

Late that night, after the gala had ended and the guests had gone home, Maya stepped out onto the balcony of her penthouse apartment.

The city spread out below her, a glittering tapestry of lights and life. The air was cool, carrying the faint promise of a new spring.

She rested her hands on the glass railing. She thought back to that night at The Copper Lantern. The pain, the humiliation, the shattering of the porcelain plates. It felt like a lifetime ago. It felt like a story that had happened to a completely different person.

Julian stepped out onto the balcony, wrapping a warm shawl over her shoulders. He didn't say a word, just stood beside her, a quiet, steady presence.

Maya looked up at the stars, then out at the endless horizon of the city.

She had survived the fire. She had burned the monster's kingdom to the ground. And from the ashes, she had built an unbreakable fortress of her own.

She took a deep breath, a genuine, peaceful smile gracing her lips. Tomorrow was indeed a brand new day. And it was going to be absolutely beautiful.
