Chapter 16 - The Olympus Boardroom
"It’s time you saw what we really do," Elena said one morning, handing Maya a secure keycard.
They drove to a sleek, unmarked skyscraper in the financial district. They took a private elevator to the top floor, stepping into a minimalist, hyper-modern boardroom with panoramic views of the city.
Seven individuals were seated around the table. They were quiet, intensely focused, and radiated power.
"Gentlemen, and ladies," Elena announced, taking her seat at the head of the table. "I would like to formally introduce my daughter, Maya. She will be joining the Olympus Fund as a junior managing partner."
Maya blinked in surprise. She hadn't known this was the plan. She looked at her mother, who gave her a reassuring, challenging nod.
"I know you have a background in human resources and corporate ethics, Maya," Elena said. "Olympus handles billions in venture capital. But we need someone to audit the internal cultures of the companies we acquire. I want you to make sure we never invest in another David Harrington again."

Maya looked around the table. These people shaped industries. And now, she was being offered a seat among the gods.
She didn't shrink back. She pulled out the chair next to her mother and sat down. "I look forward to working with you all."
