It was a quiet, incredibly beautiful Sunday afternoon.
The sun was warm, and the gentle breeze carried the sweet, unmistakable scent of ripe apples and damp earth.
Clara brought out a tray of warm tea, setting it gently on the small table beside Ramón.
Mateo walked up the steps, pulling off his work gloves, and sat on the wooden railing next to his father’s chair.
"The new irrigation pumps in the western sector are fully operational, Dad,"
Mateo reported, a proud smile on his face.
Ramón looked at his son. He looked at the vintage Omega watch ticking steadily on Mateo’s wrist. He looked at the fierce, intelligent, and fiercely protective man his son had become.
