Chapter 29 - The Federal Call

Mateo didn't take the evidence to the local authorities. He knew the rot ran too deep.
He picked up the phone and called a man he had met during his time at the agricultural institute—a fierce, incorruptible civil rights lawyer based in the capital city.
"They locked my father up on fabricated charges,"
Mateo explained rapidly over the phone.
"And I have the digital proof that the entire local precinct is on a corporate payroll."
"Send me the files, Mateo,"

"And tell Ramón to sit tight. The federal authorities have been looking for an excuse to tear Apex Holdings apart for years."
