Chapter 19 - The Promise
That evening, as the sun dipped below the mountains, Ramón walked alone to the small, quiet hill at the edge of the property.
Beneath the shade of a weeping willow rested the marble headstone of his late wife, Teresa.
He knelt down in the soft grass, placing his hand gently on the cool stone.
"They are coming back, mi amor,"
Ramón whispered to the quiet night.
"They changed their name, they changed their suits, but they are the exact same monsters who tried to take this from us before."
The wind blew gently through the willow branches.
"I promise you,"
Ramón vowed, his voice a deep, resonant rumble of absolute conviction.

He stood up, the grief of the past entirely replaced by the cold, tactical resolve of a man preparing for war.
