Chapter 23 - The Hidden Connection
Mateo refused to sit idly by while the farm died.
He drove into the city and spent three days buried in the archives of the municipal land registry. He dug through decades of convoluted corporate filings and shell companies.
When he returned to the farm, he slammed a massive stack of copied documents onto the dining table.
"It's not just a random corporate acquisition,"
Mateo announced, his eyes blazing with fury.
"What did you find?"
Ramón asked, putting down his reading glasses.
"Apex Holdings is a subsidiary,"
Mateo explained, tracing a line connecting three different corporate logos.
