Chapter 46 - The Pivot
Julian hugged Lily tightly before he left the bunker.
"I will be back, Lily. I promise."
"I know, Dad. Be careful."
Julian stepped back out into the dreary Seattle morning, driving to a secondary safehouse he maintained under an alias. He booted up a secure terminal. Elias had assumed Julian would immediately begin planning the assassination in Geneva. But Julian knew that killing the target would only make him a permanent liability to The Directorate. Once the job was done, they would tie up loose ends. Namely, him and Lily.
The only way to win a war against an omnipotent enemy was to cut their oxygen supply. And The Directorate's oxygen was untraceable, dark money.
Julian accessed his hidden files, unearthing heavily encrypted blueprints he had stolen a decade ago. The Directorate maintained its global operational funds in a highly secure, off-the-grid server farm located beneath a private bank in the Cayman Islands.
Julian wasn't going to Geneva to shoot a financier. He was going to the Caribbean to execute the most complex digital heist in history.
