Julian asked, standing in the library while his father worked.

Daniel answered, not looking up.
"I need the truth, Dad. Did you hurt them?"

"I protected your mother when no one else would. And then I destroyed the people who tried to kill her. If that makes me a villain to some, then I accept the title."
