Chapter 26 - The Sabotage

Croft did not launch a physical attack. He launched a massive, corrupt legal strike.
A week later, the foundation received a devastating court injunction. A corrupt federal judge, heavily funded by Croft’s political action committees, froze all of the Julian Hope Initiative's operational assets pending a "fraud investigation."
Elena stared at the legal documents on her office desk, her heart sinking.
"They froze the emergency relocation funds,"
Elena whispered, horrified.
"There are thirty women scheduled to be moved into safe houses this week. Without those funds, they are trapped with their abusers."
"Croft is using their lives as leverage to force me to back down,"
Daniel realized, feeling a white-hot, lethal rage explode in his chest.
"He thinks he can bleed us dry."
"What do we do?"
Elena asked, looking at her husband.
"We don't use the foundation's money,"

Daniel stated with absolute finality.
"I am liquidating fifty million dollars of my own private, untraceable capital today. No judge in the country can touch it. The women will be moved safely. Croft has officially crossed the line of no return."
