Chapter 28 - The Secret Extraction
Daniel and Elena mobilized their tactical security team instantly.
They did not call the corrupt local police. They utilized their own private, highly trained extraction unit.
At 2:00 AM, two black, unmarked SUVs rolled silently into the affluent, heavily guarded neighborhood where Croft lived.
Elena sat in the back of the lead vehicle, wearing a dark jacket, her heart hammering against her ribs. Daniel sat right beside her, holding her hand tightly.
"Target is moving toward the extraction point,"
David’s voice crackled over the encrypted radio.
A side door of the massive Croft estate opened. Sarah emerged, pulling a bruised, terrified woman by the hand. It was Croft’s wife.
They sprinted through the dark rain toward the waiting SUVs.
The doors slid open, and Elena reached out, pulling the weeping, battered woman directly into the safety of the armored vehicle.
