Chapter 27 - The Informant
While Daniel bypassed the frozen accounts with his private wealth, Elena sought a way to destroy Croft’s legal blockade.
Her encrypted cell phone buzzed late on a Friday night.
"Mrs. Vance?"
A nervous, trembling voice asked.
"Who is this?"
Elena demanded.
"My name is Sarah. I am William Croft’s executive assistant,"
The woman whispered rapidly.
"I know what he is doing to your foundation. He beats his wife, Mrs. Vance. He beats her terribly, and he uses his money to cover it up. I can't watch it happen anymore."
Elena sat up straight in her bed, her blood running cold.
"Do you have proof?"
Elena asked gently.
"I have the offshore ledgers proving he bribed the federal judge to freeze your accounts,"

"But I need your help to get his wife out of the city tonight. If he finds out, he will kill us both."
