Chapter 33 - The Arrival in London

London greeted us with its signature gray skies and freezing rain, a stark contrast to the brilliant sunshine I had left behind in my top-floor office. But the gloomy weather did absolutely nothing to dampen the electric anticipation humming through the Rose & Wren delegation. We established our temporary headquarters in a sprawling penthouse suite overlooking Hyde Park, transforming the luxurious space into a high-tech corporate war room within hours of landing.
The Global Innovators Summit was the premier event for the international elite, a gathering of billionaires, politicians, and industry titans. Julian and I arrived at the grand ballroom of the Savoy Hotel surrounded by an aura of calculated mystery. Our quiet, aggressive land acquisitions along the Thames had finally leaked to the financial press earlier that morning, sending shockwaves through the European markets. The name 'Rose & Wren' was suddenly on the lips of every powerful figure in the room.
As we walked through the opulent, crystal-lit venue, the crowds instinctively parted. Whispers followed in our wake like ripples in a pond. I wore a perfectly tailored charcoal suit, projecting an image of unyielding authority and lethal grace. Julian walked beside me, his eyes scanning the room, silently cataloging potential allies and inevitable enemies with predatory focus.
"Sterling is holding court near the main stage," Julian murmured, subtly nodding toward a cluster of wealthy investors surrounding a tall, silver-haired aristocrat. "He looks remarkably displeased with the morning's financial headlines."

"Good. I want him off-balance," I replied, grabbing a flute of champagne from a passing waiter without breaking my stride. I navigated the sea of tailored suits and designer gowns, cutting a direct, uncompromising path toward the Vanguard CEO. Sterling noticed my approach, his polite, practiced smile faltering for a fraction of a second as he recognized the architect of the morning’s market disruption.
"Lord Sterling," I said, my voice smooth and perfectly modulated, cutting through the chatter of his sycophants. "I am the founder of Rose & Wren. I understand you’ve been reading about my new real estate acquisitions. I thought it was time we properly introduced ourselves." Sterling’s eyes narrowed, realizing instantly that the wolf had not just arrived at his door, but was already standing in his grand ballroom.
