Chapter 26 - The Acknowledgment

Late that year, the National Business Association named me "CEO of the Year."
The awards gala was held at a five-star hotel.
When my name was announced, the entire auditorium gave a standing ovation.
I rolled my wheelchair onto the stage to accept the award.
There was no awkwardness.
There was no hesitation.
"Years ago, I thought my boundaries ended at these wheels," I spoke into the microphone.
The room fell utterly silent.
"But the world isn't measured in footsteps."
"It is measured in willpower."
I raised the crystal trophy.
"This award isn't for survival."
May you like
"It is for rebirth."
It was the most brilliant night of my life.
