Chapter 25 - The Promise to Her
That evening, I sat alone in my office.
I opened a drawer and took out a blank sheet of paper.
I wrote a letter.
Not to send, but to speak to the only person I truly respected.
"Dearest Grandmother."
"Rose & Wren is no longer a company that only chases profits."
"I accomplished what you always dreamed of."
"The people who hurt us have paid the price."
"The people who needed help now have a home."
"I used to think I would be trapped in my anger forever."
"But I learned how to use it."
"Thank you for leaving me a kingdom."
"And I promise you, I will protect it until my last breath."

And placed it beneath her photograph on my desk.
